A short narrative point-and-click about life with limited energy.
A narrative point-and-click game that includes hidden mini-games that often feel impossible to complete.
Created by a solo developer, It’s Not You, It’s M.E. is a game you can’t win — a brief, interactive story where everyday tasks and small challenges can become overwhelming.
It is inspired by the lived experience of Long Covid and M.E., simulating one week in the life of a fictional version of the person who made it.
Featuring original music by Jack The Robot, the game has reactive music, that reflects the energy level.
Developed with support from Disability and Deaf Arts Fest and FACT Gallery, and made possible thanks to public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
The game was originally made for display in galleries and art exhibitions.
Steam - December 2025.
Intentionally short, designed to raise awareness of the impact of Long Covid and chronic fatigue, the game can be completed in under 10 minutes and is intended to be replayed 2-3 times.
A point-and-click game, the narrative gameplay allows for player choice of what they use their energy on each day. The game has 5 short mini games that become impossible to complete if the players energy level is too low. The game has 3 endings

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) is a long-term, complex energy-limiting condition. It affects all parts of the body. The main symptom is extreme tiredness.
The ME Association estimates that at least 250,000 people in the UK have ME/CFS. In addition to this, a ‘significant but unknown number of people diagnosed with some form of Long Covid also meet diagnostic criteria for ME/CFS’ (ME Association, 2025).
